Wk 11 Las Vegas Prime Doc, Veterans Day Edition, 40 mm

It was a great day for a Parade-- about 80 degrees, clear, with a light breeze, everyone feeling, expectant and optimistic--waiting for the Parade.  Flags were everywhere! hanging from cranes, buildings, and fire engines, floating in the wind, catching in the sun.  There were motorcycles, fire engines,  lovely, sweet kids, babies in arms and strollers, Veterans sitting, standing, people lining the streets and passers by. Everyone was in the mood to celebrate--waiting for the Parade.  The Parade with its Veterans, formations of Veterans, young and old. Veterans riding motorcycles, in groups and alone, carrying the colors, honored on floats, in cars and jalopies, riding with the odd dignitary, being cheered where they stood, and  wherever they passed now-- One lone Veteran said thanks.  He said he didn't get a parade when he came back the first time. A Marines drank beer from a cup and ROTC cadets grinned and waved.  It was a red white and blue day, happy and sad, and on the side old Veterans sat, because they could no longer stand through it all, and watched as the other proud, straight Veterans passed by. The Veterans paraded on, and the bands played, and everyone said thank you for your service and cheered, and the sun was very bright, and a soft breeze blew.....
